This workshop will challenge you to explore a theme, concept or handstitch technique, it could be 2D or 3D, but often taking a sideways approach to materials.
Skill level: Intermediate- advanced. Those with practical skills from other making disciplines may also find this of interest.

MARCH

Saturday24th & Sunday 25th March 2018
'Preserving the Precious'
Over the course of the weekend you will create a unique, handstitched textile piece which will house or incorporate those small, precious things we hang onto; shards of broken pottery, a shell, a scrap from a favourite dress, a handwritten note or a feather. We will look at a variety of methods (layering, wrapping, applique and embroidery techniques) to decoratively preserve your precious items in fabric and thread. To personalise your piece you therefore need to bring a collection of small items you'd like to 'preserve'. Additional found objects will be available for you to dip into. Our beautiful setting for the weekend will be Elmslie House on the slopes of the Malvern Hills.
Skill level: suitable for those with some previous hand sewing experience.
10am - 3.30pm each day. £130 per person *. Includes materials, refreshments & sweet treats.
Venue: Elmslie House 8 Avenue Road, Great Malvern, Worcestershire, WR14 3AG
